Türkiye and Egypt Collaborate on Peace Efforts in Gaza and Stability in Libya, Says President Erdogan

Cairo, The Gulf Observer: Türkiye and Egypt are working closely to advance peace in Gaza and ensure stability in neighboring Libya, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Wednesday.
Speaking at a joint press conference with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi in Cairo, President Erdogan emphasized Ankara’s ongoing cooperation with Cairo to achieve lasting solutions in the region.
“Türkiye is working with Egypt on initiatives to make peace in Gaza possible and will continue these efforts,” he stated.
He added, “Our shared objective with Egypt continues to be the preservation of Libya’s unity and territorial integrity to establish lasting stability in the country.”
President Erdogan also highlighted the strong economic ties between the two nations, noting that Egypt is Türkiye’s largest trade partner in Africa. He expressed Ankara’s aim to increase bilateral trade volume from $8–9 billion to $15 billion. “Türkiye wants to enhance its cooperation with Egypt in the fields of maritime trade and transportation, freedom of navigation, and maritime security,” he said.

Addressing broader diplomatic challenges, Erdogan stated, “Resolving issues with Iran, including the nuclear issue, through diplomatic means is the most appropriate method.”
On Syria, the president underlined Türkiye’s support for the country’s territorial integrity and political unity, stressing that the region would benefit from Syria’s stability and transformation.
President Erdogan also drew attention to the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza, despite a months-long ceasefire, and praised Egypt’s efforts in facilitating the delivery of Turkish humanitarian aid to Palestinians in the region.
