Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: Turkmenistan and the State of Palestine have reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing bilateral relations during a meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan on Thursday.

The meeting took place between Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Myahri Byashimova and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Palestine to Turkmenistan Rana Abu Hijleh.

The two sides reviewed the current state of Turkmen-Palestinian cooperation, with particular emphasis on strengthening political dialogue and expanding cooperation between the foreign ministries of both countries.

During the discussions, the Palestinian ambassador briefed the Turkmen side on upcoming political developments in Palestine, including the parliamentary elections scheduled for 2026 and the presidential elections planned for 2027.

The meeting also focused on enhancing cultural and humanitarian cooperation, with both sides exchanging views on organising joint events aimed at further promoting people-to-people ties and mutual understanding.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Ambassador Rana Abu Hijleh expressed appreciation to the leadership of Turkmenistan for its continued support for the activities of the Embassy of the State of Palestine in Ashgabat.

The ambassador also reaffirmed Palestine’s commitment to further strengthening the longstanding friendly relations and expanding mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries across various fields.
