Turkmenistan, United States Discuss Bilateral Cooperation and Prospects for Further Engagement
Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Myahri Byashimova held a meeting with Kristin Hawkins, Chargé d’Affaires ad interim of the United States of America to Turkmenistan, to discuss the current state and prospects of Turkmen-American cooperation.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on current issues of bilateral cooperation and considered prospects for expanding engagement in areas of mutual interest.
Particular attention was devoted to cooperation within international organizations, with the United Nations identified as a key platform for continued interaction between Turkmenistan and the United States.
The two sides also discussed priority areas of bilateral cooperation in the humanitarian sphere. Particular emphasis was placed on expanding educational and sports exchanges, as well as advancing joint projects and programmes aimed at strengthening people-to-people contacts and practical cooperation.
The interlocutors additionally considered organizational matters related to upcoming joint events and exchanged views on opportunities for further coordination.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their readiness to maintain regular diplomatic dialogue and further develop constructive cooperation across a broad range of bilateral and multilateral issues.
The meeting underscored the two countries’ continued interest in strengthening engagement through diplomatic consultations and cooperation within international and humanitarian frameworks.
