UAE, France Reaffirm Strategic Ties in High-Level Talks

Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, held talks with Jean-Noël Barrot, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the French Republic, to review regional developments and strengthen bilateral cooperation.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the repercussions of Iran’s recent missile attacks targeting the UAE and several other countries, highlighting their impact on regional and international peace and security, as well as maritime safety, energy supplies, and the global economy.
The French minister reaffirmed France’s full solidarity with the UAE, expressing support for all measures undertaken to protect its sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity, while ensuring the safety of citizens, residents, and visitors.
Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed expressed appreciation for the visit, noting that it underscores the depth of the strategic and exceptional relations between the UAE and France. He emphasized that France’s stance reflects its firm support for the UAE in the aftermath of what he described as unprovoked attacks, and commended the enduring strength of bilateral ties across multiple sectors.
Both sides also reviewed developments related to the ceasefire between the United States and Iran, stressing the importance of enhanced international coordination to achieve sustainable peace in the region and support long-term development and economic prosperity.
In addition, discussions covered avenues for expanding cooperation in economic, cultural, and technological fields, with both countries reaffirming their commitment to advancing partnerships that serve mutual interests.
The meeting was attended by Anwar Gargash, Diplomatic Adviser to the UAE President, and Lana Zaki Nusseibeh.
