UAE President, Syrian Counterpart Hold Talks to Boost Bilateral Ties, Discuss Regional Developments

Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan received Syrian President Ahmed Al-Sharaa, who is on a working visit to the United Arab Emirates, to discuss bilateral relations and key regional developments.
During the meeting, the two leaders reviewed fraternal ties between their countries and explored avenues to enhance cooperation, particularly in economic and development sectors, in a manner that supports mutual interests and benefits their peoples.
They also exchanged views on regional issues of mutual concern, including ongoing developments in the Middle East and their implications for regional and international peace and security, as well as maritime security and the global economy.
In this context, President Al-Sharaa condemned what he described as Iranian terrorist attacks targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure in the UAE and other countries in the region. He stated that such actions constitute a violation of sovereignty and international law, and undermine regional stability. He also commended the UAE’s measures to safeguard its security and ensure the safety of its citizens.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening UAE-Syria relations in ways that promote development and contribute to building a more prosperous future for their peoples.
The meeting was attended by several senior UAE officials, including Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court; Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan; Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs; Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; and Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Also present were Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, along with a number of sheikhs, ministers, and senior officials.
The Syrian President was accompanied by a delegation that included Asaad Al Shaibani, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, and other officials.
Earlier upon arrival in Abu Dhabi, President Al-Sharaa was received at the Presidential Airport by Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Khalifa bin Shaheen Al Marar, Minister of State.
