UAE Sprinter Maryam Karim Wins Gold at Arab Junior Athletics Championship

Taif, The Gulf Observer: UAE National Team sprinter Maryam Karim claimed a gold medal in the 400-meter final at the Arab Junior Athletics Championship for athletes under 18, held in Saudi Arabia.

Karim’s outstanding performance, finishing with a time of 55.09 seconds, followed her dominant showing in the qualifying rounds, where she clocked the fastest time of 57.71 seconds. Her victory marks the UAE’s second podium finish in the championship, after Salem Al-Maqbali secured a silver medal in shot put.

Major General Dr. Mohammed Al-Murr, President of the Athletics Federation, praised Karim’s achievement, highlighting it as a reflection of the federation’s strategic commitment to nurturing young talent and preparing athletes for success on the international stage.
