Uzbekistan Delegation Participates in First “Central Asia-China” Supreme Courts Meeting

Urumqi, The Gulf Observer: A delegation led by the Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyar Islamov, participated in the inaugural meeting of Chairs of Supreme Courts from “Central Asia-China.” The event, held in Urumqi, brought together delegations from the Supreme Courts of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and the Supreme People’s Court of China.
The meeting focused on key issues such as mechanisms for resolving cross-border commercial disputes, law enforcement strategies against terrorism, drug trafficking, corruption, and cybercrime, as well as cooperation among transnational courts. Participants also discussed the integration of information technologies to ensure fair and effective justice, alongside efforts to protect environmental resources and promote green, low-carbon energy development.
At the conclusion of the event, a protocol was signed by the participants, outlining promising areas for further judicial cooperation between Central Asia and China.
During the visit, Chairman Bakhtiyar Islamov met with Zhang Jun, Secretary of the Leading Party Members’ Group and President of the Supreme People’s Court of China. The leaders discussed the potential for enhanced judicial cooperation and exchanged views on further strengthening partnerships and improving the judicial systems in both countries.
