Guinea Hosts Third Edition of Arab Poetry Forum in Collaboration with Sharjah Cultural Department

Conakry, The Gulf Observer: The Republic of Guinea successfully hosted the third edition of the Arab Poetry Forum, a prestigious event organized by the Cultural Affairs Administration in the Sharjah Culture Department, in collaboration with the Doctorate Programme in Language and Civilisation at Lansana Conté University in Conakry. The two-day forum saw the participation of 13 renowned poets and creators.

The series, held under the patronage of H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, is a reflection of Sharjah’s ongoing commitment to promoting the Arabic language and its rich literary heritage across Africa.

Held in the Jibril Tamsir Mian hall at Lansana Conté University, the forum attracted a distinguished audience, including university President Professor Manga Keita, Dean of the Faculty of Arts Mamadou Yahya Sow, heads of Arab diplomatic missions, university professors, students, and admirers of Arabic poetry.

Professor Imran Kaba, who managed the event’s opening, welcomed the attendees, stating that the forum serves as a cultural bridge between Africa and the Arab world. “Over the past three editions, this forum has strengthened the presence of the Arabic language in African communities and restored its significance,” he remarked.

University President Manga Keita expressed his admiration for Sharjah’s cultural initiatives in Africa, noting that the Arab Poetry Forum has had a substantial impact, fostering creativity and showcasing the power of Arabic literature.
