Thai Beauty Queen Opal Chuangsri Dazzles at Miss Universe 2024 Opening Ceremony
Bangkok, The Gulf Observer: On November 13, 2024, Thai beauty queen Suchata “Opal” Chuangsri captivated audiences at the opening ceremony of Miss Universe 2024 in Mexico. She appeared on stage wearing the Siripattara Siwalai costume, a stunning creation by Thai designer Teschvit Krutsang.
The Siwalai costume, rooted in Thai tradition, was originally popularized by Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, as part of an initiative to preserve and revive Thai cultural heritage. This elegant attire features intricate embroidery on brocade fabric, with gold threads and delicate floral patterns, creating a regal appearance.
The outfit also included a sabai (shoulder sash) embellished with diamonds and Swarovski crystals, a sarong-style skirt with royal motifs, and a belt adorned with diamond accents. Opal’s accessories were equally exquisite, including a diamond necklace and a golden clutch shaped like a swan, made with Swarovski crystals and symbolizing prosperity. Her footwear, inspired by royal designs, was crafted from gold patent leather.
Teschvit Krutsang, the designer behind the ensemble, shared that the Siwalai dress worn by Opal has now become a powerful symbol of Thai culture on the international stage.
The preliminary competition of Miss Universe 2024 began on November 15 at 9 AM Thailand time, with the grand final scheduled for Sunday, November 17, at 8 AM.
