Tashkent Hosts Concert Celebrating Azerbaijan Youth Day
Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: A concert marking Azerbaijan Youth Day was held in Tashkent, organized by the Azerbaijan Cultural Center named after Heydar Aliyev. The event gathered representatives from the Azerbaijani Embassy in Uzbekistan, cultural and scientific figures, members of the diaspora, the general public, and students.
Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Huseyn Guliyev, highlighted the significance of Azerbaijan Youth Day, first established in 1997 by national leader Heydar Aliyev. He emphasized the strong state support for youth in both Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, acknowledging the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev in advancing youth development and national values.
Rector of the State Academy of Choreography of Uzbekistan, Shukhrat Tokhtasimov, spoke about the growing cultural ties between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, including joint projects with the Baku Choreography Academy. Similarly, Rector of the Uzbekistan National Institute of Musical Art, Eldor Shermanov, praised Azerbaijan’s youth policies and highlighted Uzbekistan’s initiatives, including the designation of 2024 as the Year of Support for Youth and Business.
The event featured vibrant performances by the Azerbaijan Dance Ensemble, the Uzbek State Dance Ensemble “Navbakhor,” and students from the Baku Choreography Academy. Additionally, Uzbek singer Dilnoza Akbarova, along with Azerbaijani performers Vahid Aliyev and Fatima Iskanderova, captivated the audience with songs from both countries, receiving enthusiastic applause.
