Sharjah Ruler Launches Third Phase of "Rhetorical Interpretation" Encyclopedia and Warsh Narration Encyclopedia

Sharjah, The Gulf Observer: His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, officially launched the third phase of the Rhetorical Interpretation Encyclopedia and the Warsh Narration Encyclopedia during the annual graduation ceremony of the fifth batch of 329 reciters from the Sharjah Holy Quran Academy. The event took place at the University City Hall.

During the ceremony, His Highness signed the first edition of the third phase of the Rhetorical Interpretation Encyclopedia, comprising 22 volumes and covering eight chapters of the Holy Quran. This brings the total number of volumes across all three phases to 47, with over 110,000 rhetorical titles. Additionally, he signed the Warsh Narration Encyclopedia, consisting of 18 volumes, focused on individualized reading methods. The appendices also feature the Qalun and Warsh narration tree diagrams and a Mushaf illustrating the narration with Eastern diacritics.

The ceremony commenced with a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by student reciter Hazza bin Abdullah Al Balushi, followed by a speech from Dr. Khalifa Musabah Al Tunaiji, Chairman of the Sharjah Holy Quran Academy. Dr. Al Tunaiji expressed profound gratitude to His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah for his unwavering support of the Academy and its initiatives. He highlighted the Academy’s global mission to elevate Sharjah’s role in serving the Holy Quran and promoting Quranic heritage.

Dr. Al Tunaiji praised the Academy’s remarkable achievements, including the emergence of the Sharjah Electronic Recitation Centre as a global leader, reaching 172 countries worldwide. He acknowledged the invaluable support of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, whose vision and guidance have made these accomplishments possible.

The Academy has conferred Quranic licenses to 1,518 students who successfully passed the Sanad test, with 91 licensees now teaching others. The Sharjah International Electronic Recitation Centre currently has 938 registered students and has facilitated 1,742 recitations as of March 2025.

The Academy has published eight scientific works focused on linguistic and rhetorical aspects of Quranic recitations, providing essential resources for scholars and researchers. It has also welcomed over 8,437 visitors, including dignitaries and scholars, and conducted scientific seminars and summer programs with more than 3,382 participants.

The event also featured a recitation by Ahmed Fawzi, a student from Indonesia who completed the Quran under the supervision of reciter Mustafa Khader. His Highness signed Fawzi’s Quranic license, symbolizing the Academy’s mission to spread Arab and Islamic identity globally.

In recognition of their contributions, His Highness honoured the sponsors and supporters of the Academy with certificates of appreciation and shields. A commemorative photo was taken with scholars and those involved in completing the encyclopedias.

The ceremony concluded with the graduation of the fifth batch of Quranic reciters, who received licenses with a chain of transmission traceable to Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).

The Rhetorical Interpretation Encyclopedia, the first of its kind, comprehensively addresses Quranic rhetoric and semantic distinctions.
