Turkmenistan, Mongolia Reaffirm Commitment to Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation

Ulaanbaatar, The Gulf Observer: President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov reaffirmed his country’s readiness to support stronger economic and trade ties with Mongolia during a high-level meeting with President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh in Ulaanbaatar on Monday, according to Turkmenistan’s official media.
Speaking during the expanded-format negotiations attended by official delegations from both nations, President Berdimuhamedov expressed Turkmenistan’s openness to considering proposals from Mongolian partners and supporting the establishment of direct business contacts. He also emphasized Turkmenistan’s commitment to fostering favorable legal conditions to promote mutual trade.
The discussions covered a wide range of issues, including political dialogue, trade and economic cooperation, cultural and humanitarian exchanges, and joint efforts in the transportation sector. President Berdimuhamedov highlighted Turkmenistan’s strong interest in deepening economic ties with Mongolia and noted the significant potential to shape a dynamic and multifaceted bilateral partnership. He specifically underscored transportation as a key area of cooperation and referenced Turkmenistan’s initiative to revive the historical Great Silk Road through collaborative transnational logistics projects.
President Khurelsukh welcomed Turkmenistan’s proposals and reiterated Mongolia’s commitment to enhancing cooperation in priority sectors. He praised the agreements reached on forming joint committees in transportation, agriculture, and light industry, and stressed the importance of broadening partnerships in science and cultural exchange.
The meeting concluded with the signing of several intergovernmental and interagency agreements in the presence of both heads of state, including a Joint Statement that reaffirmed the shared commitment to deepening strategic cooperation between Turkmenistan and Mongolia.
