President Pezeshkian Urges Islamic Unity in Support of Palestine

Tehran, The Gulf Observer: President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, has emphasized the urgent need for unity and coordination among Islamic nations in defense of the Palestinian people, calling for intensified diplomatic efforts to halt the ongoing violence in Gaza.

Speaking during a meeting with Jamil Mezher, Deputy Secretary General of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), who is visiting Tehran at the head of a delegation, President Pezeshkian reaffirmed Iran’s unwavering commitment to the Palestinian cause.

“The full utilization of diplomatic and political capacities to immediately halt the Zionist regime’s crimes in Gaza will continue,” the President stated, highlighting the critical importance of collective action.

Pezeshkian described support for oppressed peoples around the world—particularly the Palestinian people—as a “fundamental and unchangeable policy rooted in the authentic teachings of the Islamic Revolution.”

Addressing the severe humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the atrocities committed by the Israeli regime, the Iranian President noted, “The primary reason for the continuation of this oppression and brutality is the lack of unity, solidarity, and coordination among Islamic countries.”

He further stressed Iran’s commitment to enhancing Islamic cooperation: “What we seek is to strengthen convergence, brotherhood, and good neighborliness in the Islamic world and to achieve a unified stance on regional and international issues, including the Palestinian cause.”

For his part, Mezher expressed gratitude for the Islamic Republic’s steadfast support, stating, “We sincerely appreciate President Pezeshkian’s supportive, enlightening, and unifying positions in defense of the Palestinian issue.”

The PFLP official also underscored the necessity of unity among resistance movements to confront the Israeli regime, calling on Islamic nations to take decisive steps to end the massacre of civilians in Gaza.

The meeting reaffirmed Iran’s position as a key advocate for the Palestinian cause and underscored its efforts to rally Islamic unity in the face of ongoing regional challenges.
