Czechia Reaffirms Support for Two-State Solution Amid France’s Pledge to Recognize Palestine

Prague, The Gulf Observer: The Czech Republic has reiterated its longstanding position in favor of a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, emphasizing that such an outcome must be reached through direct negotiations and mutual agreement between the parties involved. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs made this statement in response to an inquiry by ČTK (Czech News Agency).
The reaffirmation of Czechia’s stance comes shortly after French President Emmanuel Macron announced on Thursday that France will recognize the State of Palestine in September during the United Nations General Assembly session in New York.
“Czechia believes that lasting peace and stability in the region can only be achieved through constructive dialogue and a negotiated agreement between Israelis and Palestinians,” the ministry emphasized.
The Czech Republic has historically maintained strong diplomatic relations with Israel while also advocating for peaceful and fair solutions to the Palestinian issue. While some European countries have moved toward unilateral recognition of Palestine, Prague continues to insist that international consensus and direct bilateral talks are essential for a sustainable and just resolution.
President Macron’s upcoming recognition of Palestine is expected to reignite debates across Europe on the diplomatic path forward in addressing the decades-long conflict. However, Czechia maintains that any viable peace must be grounded in negotiations that respect the rights and aspirations of both nations.
