Plane Carrying Global Sumud Flotilla Activists Detained by Israel Arrives in Istanbul

Istanbul, The Gulf Observer: A plane carrying activists from the Global Sumud Flotilla, who were attacked and detained by Israeli forces in international waters, landed at Istanbul Airport on Saturday afternoon.
The flight, which departed from Ramon Airport in Eilat, Israel, arrived in Istanbul at 3:50 p.m. local time (12:50 GMT).
A total of 137 people from the flotilla were on board, including 36 Turkish citizens and 23 Malaysians. The activists were greeted at the airport by officials and supporters.
In addition to Turkish and Malaysian nationals, the passengers included citizens of the United States, the United Arab Emirates, Algeria, Morocco, Italy, Kuwait, Libya, Mauritania, Switzerland, Tunisia, and Jordan.
