Türkiye Welcomes 47.25 Million Foreign Tourists in First 10 Months of 2025

Ankara, The Gulf Observer: Türkiye welcomed 47.25 million foreign tourists in the first 10 months of 2025, according to official data released by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism on Friday.
The ministry reported that foreign arrivals between January and October recorded a slight decline of 0.1% compared to the same period last year, reflecting overall stability in the country’s tourism sector despite global economic fluctuations.
Istanbul remained the top destination, attracting 16.01 million visitors and accounting for 33.9% of all foreign arrivals. The city continues to serve as a major global tourism hub, drawing travelers with its historical landmarks, cultural diversity, and vibrant urban life.
Antalya, the Mediterranean resort city renowned for its beaches and hospitality industry, ranked second, followed by Edirne, the northwestern border province adjacent to Bulgaria and Greece, which remains a frequent entry point for European tourists.
Russian nationals made up the largest share of foreign visitors, accounting for 13.5% of total arrivals from January to October. They were followed by tourists from Germany and the United Kingdom, underscoring Türkiye’s continued appeal in key European markets.
In October alone, foreign arrivals reached 5.68 million, marking a 4.3% year-on-year increase and contributing to the sector’s steady performance as the year draws to a close.
The latest figures reaffirm Türkiye’s position as one of the world’s leading tourism destinations, supported by its diverse attractions, strategic location, and robust hospitality infrastructure.
