Iran and Tajikistan Discuss Enhanced Cooperation in Communications and Cybersecurity at WTDC-25

Tehran, The Gulf Observer: Iran’s Minister of Information and Communications Technology, Sattar Hashemi, held bilateral talks with Isfandiyor Saadullo, Head of the Communications Service under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, on strengthening cooperation in the fields of communications and cybersecurity.

The meeting took place on Saturday on the sidelines of the World Telecommunication Development Conference 2025 (WTDC-25) in Baku, Republic of Azerbaijan.

According to officials, discussions focused on key areas including the importation of internet traffic from Iran to Tajikistan and joint efforts in international roaming services. Both sides reiterated their readiness to deepen collaboration in digital technologies and cybersecurity, though no specific agreements were publicly disclosed.

Saadullo highlighted the significance of sharing expertise in cybersecurity and training IT specialists, expressing optimism that such cooperation would contribute to improving communication services across Tajikistan.

The two-day conference in Baku gathered representatives from more than 100 countries to discuss emerging challenges and opportunities in the global communications and information technology sectors.
