Iran, Russia Sign Cooperation Memorandum on AI, Cyber Security and Digital Technologies

Moscow, The Gulf Observer: Iran and Russia on Friday signed a comprehensive memorandum of cooperation covering artificial intelligence, cyber security and a wide range of digital technologies, following the conclusion of the fifth meeting of their joint working group on communications and information technology.
The agreement was signed in Moscow by Meysam Abedi, Iran’s Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technology, and Alexander Shoitov, Russia’s Deputy Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media.
According to officials, the memorandum encompasses cooperation in several key sectors, including AI, cyber security, smart government systems, blockchain, fintech, regulatory frameworks, and the development of technology and postal parks. The document also highlights a shared commitment to strengthening collaboration between the private sectors of both countries.
Speaking to reporters, Abedi emphasized that the agreement reflects the determination of Tehran and Moscow to further expand cooperation in critical digital domains. He noted that the memorandum reinforces joint efforts in data transit, e-government services and the exchange of technical expertise, marking a significant step toward deeper bilateral engagement in the digital sphere.
