Astana, The Gulf Observer: Renowned mountaineer Anar Burasheva has become the first woman in the history of Kazakhstan and Central Asia to conquer the highest peak on each continent, successfully completing the prestigious Seven Summits program, media reports said.

The historic achievement was sealed after Burasheva summited the Vinson Massif in Antarctica, the highest peak on the continent. She announced the milestone in a post on her Instagram account, describing the culmination of a challenging two-year journey.

“This has been a two-year journey — the Seven Summits project. I am the first woman from Kazakhstan and Central Asia to achieve this. At the moment, I can’t put all my emotions into words — there are simply too many,” she wrote.

Over the course of two years, Burasheva reached the summits of Mount Everest (8,818 meters) in Asia, Aconcagua (6,962 meters) in South America, Denali (6,194 meters) in North America, Kilimanjaro (5,895 meters) in Africa, Mount Elbrus (5,642 meters) in Europe, the Vinson Massif (4,897 meters) in Antarctica, and Puncak Jaya—also known as the Carstensz Pyramid (4,884 meters)—in Oceania.

Her accomplishment marks a significant milestone for women’s mountaineering in the region and places Kazakhstan and Central Asia prominently on the global map of high-altitude climbing achievements.
