Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia Leaders Hold Talks on Regional Tensions, Pledge Stronger Cooperation

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud held a telephone conversation on March 29, focusing on regional developments and the enhancement of bilateral cooperation.
At the outset, both leaders warmly exchanged congratulations on the occasion of Ramadan Hayit (Eid al-Fitr), reaffirming the spirit of friendship and mutual respect between the two nations.
During the discussion, the two sides expressed deep concern over the rapidly evolving situation in the Middle East and rising regional tensions. They underscored the importance of preventing further escalation and achieving a comprehensive settlement, noting that such efforts are vital not only for regional countries but also for ensuring global peace and stability.
President Mirziyoyev reiterated Uzbekistan’s solidarity with the leadership and people of Saudi Arabia during this challenging period, expressing full support for the Kingdom’s balanced and prudent approach to the ongoing crisis.
He also conveyed special gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for their continued support and for facilitating favorable conditions for Uzbek citizens performing Umrah in the Kingdom.
In response, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman appreciated the sincere goodwill and friendly support extended by the Uzbek leadership.
Both leaders agreed to further strengthen high-level contacts and enhance coordination to elevate bilateral and multilateral relations to a new level, reaffirming their shared commitment to deeper cooperation and regional stability.
