Türkiye’s National Intelligence Organisation Dismantles PKK Intelligence Cell

Ankara, The Gulf Observer: In a significant blow to the PKK, Türkiye’s National Intelligence Organisation (MIT) has successfully dismantled the terrorist group’s so-called intelligence cell. This achievement follows intensive efforts by MIT to uncover and neutralize the intelligence structure of the PKK.
The investigation revealed that Sadik Topaloglu, known by the codename Halil, and Mehmet Savas were key operatives within this structure. Their activities were closely monitored, leading to a joint operation by MIT and the Istanbul Provincial Security Directorate. The two senior terrorists, operating in Istanbul and serving within the PKK’s intelligence framework, were apprehended.
MIT’s meticulous surveillance identified Sadik Topaloglu as a critical member of the PKK’s intelligence wing. It was discovered that Topaloglu had illicitly crossed into Iraq’s Kandil region to receive intelligence training. During this period, he met with Cemil Bayik, one of the ringleaders of the terrorist organisation.
Upon his return to Türkiye, Topaloglu operated under the guise of journalism to gather intelligence for the PKK. Further investigations revealed that, in collaboration with Mehmet Savas, he engaged in financial activities for the organisation and supplied materials to PKK members in Syria through front companies.
Both Topaloglu and Savas have been arrested on charges of being members of a terrorist organisation and have been sent to prison.
This operation marks a significant step in Türkiye’s ongoing efforts to combat terrorism and protect national security.
