Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Reaffirms UAE’s Support for Pakistan’s Economic Development

Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan met with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad today, reaffirming the United Arab Emirates’ unwavering support for Pakistan’s economic growth and prosperity.

This visit marked Sheikh Khaled’s first official trip to Pakistan in his capacity as Crown Prince. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended a warm welcome, underscoring Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening the historic and fraternal ties between the two nations. The meeting began with a one-on-one session, followed by delegation-level discussions.

Reflecting on his recent meeting with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed satisfaction with the growing cooperation between Pakistan and the UAE. He emphasized that both countries are now working closely to translate their strong political relations into a mutually beneficial economic partnership.

During the talks, the Prime Minister highlighted discussions on the Uzbekistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan Railway Line during his recent visit to Uzbekistan. He noted Uzbekistan’s keen interest in the project, stating that it would significantly benefit the ports of Gwadar and Abu Dhabi while serving as a transformative initiative for regional connectivity.

The Prime Minister also acknowledged the UAE’s longstanding support for Pakistan in various sectors, particularly during challenging times. He commended the UAE’s growing investment in Pakistan and cited the recent collaboration between Abu Dhabi Ports and Pakistani entities as a testament to the expanding economic partnership.

Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed, accompanied by a high-level delegation of senior officials and business leaders, expressed appreciation for the warm reception and reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation.

On this occasion, both leaders witnessed the signing of several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and agreements aimed at enhancing collaboration in key sectors, including banking, mining, infrastructure development, and railways.

The visit underscores the continued commitment of both nations to fostering strong economic and strategic ties for mutual benefit.
