ADJD Hosts Mock Judicial Session for Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi Law Students

Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD) recently orchestrated a mock judicial session for students from the College of Law at Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi, demonstrating a commitment to enriching legal education with practical experience and bridging the gap between academic learning and real-world legal practice.
The initiative, held within the premises of Abu Dhabi Courts, forms part of broader endeavors aimed at enhancing the quality of legal education and training. This strategic direction is in alignment with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Presidential Court, and Chairman of ADJD, who champions community engagement and leadership across various sectors.
During the simulated judicial session, conducted in a dedicated training courtroom, students assumed diverse roles including judges, prosecutors, judges’ assistants, and defense lawyers. This immersive experience enabled them to delve into multifaceted aspects of legal work and engage in practical scenarios reflective of real courtroom dynamics.
The ADJD’s initiative plays a pivotal role in narrowing the divide between theoretical legal studies pursued at universities and the pragmatic exigencies encountered within courts and prosecution offices. By offering students a platform to apply their acquired knowledge and skills in a realistic setting, the program enriches their educational journey and fosters invaluable insights into legal practice.
Such collaborative endeavors between academic institutions and judicial authorities underscore a shared commitment to nurturing the next generation of legal professionals and promoting excellence in the field of law.
