Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan Foreign Ministers Discuss Expanding Strategic Cooperation

Baku, The Gulf Observer: Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov held a telephone conversation with his Uzbek counterpart Bakhtiyor Saidov on June 20 to discuss the further development of bilateral relations and cooperation across a range of sectors.

According to Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry, the two ministers reviewed issues arising from the allied relations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, with particular focus on high-level reciprocal visits, the implementation of previously reached agreements, and the advancement of cooperation in trade, economic affairs, investment, transport and logistics.

The discussion also covered prospects for expanding collaboration in other areas of mutual interest as both countries continue to strengthen their strategic partnership.

Bayramov and Saidov exchanged views on cooperation within regional and international organizations, including the Organization of Turkic States and the United Nations, as well as other multilateral platforms.

The ministers further discussed a number of regional and international developments of mutual concern, reaffirming the importance of continued coordination and dialogue between the two countries on key issues.

The telephone conversation reflected the close and growing ties between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, underpinned by their allied relationship and shared commitment to deepening cooperation across political, economic and multilateral spheres.
