Chinese Premier Urges China and South Korea to Seize More Development Opportunities

Seoul, The Gulf Observer: Chinese Premier Li Qiang on Sunday urged South Korea to work with China to strengthen friendship and mutual trust between the two nations while respecting each other’s core interests and major concerns.
During his meeting with South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol in Seoul, Premier Li emphasized the importance of both countries being friendly neighbors of mutual trust and partners of mutual achievement. He highlighted the need for sound, steady, and substantial development of China-South Korea relations.
Li noted that the industrial and supply chains of China and South Korea are deeply intertwined, presenting opportunities for further development. He expressed China’s readiness to deepen cooperation in high-end manufacturing, new energy, artificial intelligence, and biomedicine. Additionally, Li stated that China would expand market access and strengthen guarantees for foreign investment, welcoming South Korean companies to invest in China.
He also stressed the importance of keeping economic and trade issues separate from political or security concerns to maintain stable and smooth industrial and supply chains for both countries and the global market. Furthermore, Li indicated China’s willingness to enhance coordination with South Korea in multilateral fields to jointly promote world peace and development.
President Yoon reaffirmed South Korea’s adherence to the one-China principle, expressing a commitment to expanding economic and trade cooperation, strengthening people-to-people exchanges, and deepening trilateral cooperation among South Korea, China, and Japan. He underscored the potential for further development of South Korea-China relations.
Both leaders agreed to accelerate the second phase of the Free Trade Agreement negotiations and to initiate high-level diplomacy and security dialogues at an appropriate time. They also committed to promoting people-to-people and youth exchanges to facilitate closer ties between their citizens.
Premier Li arrived in Seoul to attend the ninth trilateral summit meeting of China, Japan, and South Korea.
