Dubai Chambers Explores New Trade and Investment Opportunities with Ethiopia

Addis Ababa, The Gulf Observer: Dubai Chambers has conducted a series of high-level meetings with government bodies, economic institutions, and investment organizations in Ethiopia’s capital, Addis Ababa, aimed at strengthening trade and investment ties between Dubai and Ethiopia.

The meetings were attended by Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, as part of a trade mission organized by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce to Ethiopia and Ghana.

During discussions with Ethiopia’s Ministry of Industry, represented by Melaku Alebel, both sides explored opportunities to expand cooperation across industrial sectors. The talks focused on enhancing private-sector partnerships, increasing bilateral trade, and identifying new avenues for joint investment projects.

Dubai Chambers also met with the Ethiopian Investment Commission, represented by Deputy Commissioner Zinabu Yirga. Discussions centered on attracting investments, strengthening collaboration in priority sectors, and showcasing the investment advantages offered by both Dubai and Ethiopia to international businesses.

In a separate meeting, Dubai Chambers held talks with Ethiopian Investment Holdings, Africa’s largest sovereign wealth fund. The fund was represented by Deputy CEO Meleket Sahlu. Both sides examined opportunities for building long-term partnerships that can support economic development and create new prospects for companies and investors from both markets.

The meetings formed part of a broader trade mission to Ethiopia and Ghana aimed at helping Dubai-based companies expand into high-potential African markets. The initiative reflects Dubai’s ongoing efforts to strengthen economic partnerships across Africa and facilitate greater cross-border trade and investment.
