Indonesia Launches Export Potential Dashboard to Boost Regional Trade Opportunities

Jakarta, The Gulf Observer: Dyah Roro Esti, Indonesia’s Deputy Trade Minister, stated that the country possesses enormous export potential and expressed confidence that the newly launched Indonesian Export Potential Dashboard would help unlock broader trade opportunities across the nation.
Speaking during the launch ceremony of the Indonesian Export Potential Dashboard in Jakarta on Monday, Esti described the platform as an important solution for identifying and maximizing regional export opportunities.
She noted that Indonesia recorded a trade surplus of US$41.05 billion throughout 2025, comprising a non-oil and gas surplus of US$60.75 billion and an oil and gas deficit of US$19.7 billion.
According to the Deputy Minister, Indonesia’s trade surplus also reached US$5.5 billion during the January–March 2026 period. During the first quarter of 2026, non-oil and gas exports totaled US$63.6 billion, while non-oil and gas imports stood at US$52.97 billion.
Esti expressed hope that regional governments across all provinces would actively utilize the dashboard to identify and develop export potential in their respective regions, with the aim of further improving Indonesia’s export performance.
She also voiced optimism over the growing number of Indonesian export activities, saying the trend reflects the increasing competitiveness of domestic products and their ability to meet international standards.
Highlighting the government’s efforts to expand access to global markets amid ongoing geopolitical uncertainty, Esti said Indonesia continues to strengthen trade cooperation through several Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreements currently under negotiation or ratification with countries including Canada and Peru, as well as with several African nations.
The Deputy Minister further revealed that she recently led a trade mission to China, where a memorandum of understanding worth approximately US$88 million was signed.
She described the agreement as an extraordinary achievement, emphasizing that Indonesian products are increasingly attracting international interest and demonstrating strong competitiveness in global markets.
Esti also encouraged local governments to become more proactive and confident in developing untapped economic and export potential across the country.
She added that the Indonesian Export Potential Dashboard is expected to raise greater awareness regarding export opportunities that have not yet been fully explored and developed.
