Indonesia Reaffirms Commitment to Elevating Indonesian Archery Ahead of 2028 Olympics
Jakarta, The Gulf Observer: Minister of Youth and Sports Dito Ariotedjo has reiterated the government’s dedication to advancing Indonesian archery, with a vision of making history at the 2028 Olympics. The announcement was made during the National Working Meeting (Rakernas) of the Indonesian Archery Association (Perpani) held in Jakarta on Sunday, November 8.
“The ministry fully supports Indonesian archery to achieve international-level success. Our goal is to ensure archery will make history in the 2028 Olympics,” Ariotedjo stated in a press release on Monday.
State-of-the-Art Training Facility Underway
To support these ambitions, the government is constructing a cutting-edge training facility at the Cibubur Youth Elite Sport Center. Designed to accommodate multiple sports, including archery, the facility is expected to boost the performance of Indonesian athletes on the global stage.
“We are preparing the Cibubur training center for several sports, and archery is among them. This facility reflects our commitment to fostering international-level achievements,” Ariotedjo remarked.
International Event Participation
The Indonesian archery team has a busy schedule in 2024, with plans to compete in several prestigious international events:
- Archery World Cup
- SEA Games in Thailand
- Asian Youth Games
- The World Games
The early preparation for these events, the minister emphasized, is critical for ensuring top-tier performance.
Collaboration for Success
Chairman of Perpani, Arsjad Rasjid, highlighted the importance of inclusive collaboration among all stakeholders in driving Indonesian archery forward.
“Every party has a role to play, providing support within their respective capacities. Mutual cooperation is vital for achieving world-class success,” Rasjid said.
