Iran and Italy Hold Fifth Round of Political Consultations in Tehran

Tehran, The Gulf Observer: Senior officials from the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Italy convened in Tehran on Sunday for the fifth round of bilateral political consultations, reaffirming their commitment to advancing dialogue on a broad spectrum of issues.

The discussions were led by Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs, Majid Takht-e-Ravanchi, and his Italian counterpart, Riccardo Guariglia, Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy.

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the current state and future prospects of Iran-Italy relations across various sectors, including political dialogue, economic cooperation, cultural exchange, and consular affairs.

The consultations also encompassed regional developments and major international issues, with particular attention to the ongoing indirect nuclear negotiations between Iran and the United States. Both sides exchanged views and outlined their respective positions on these matters.

Emphasizing the importance of continued engagement, the two delegations agreed to maintain momentum on key topics discussed and confirmed that the next round of political consultations will be hosted in Rome.
