Iran and Kazakhstan Explore Enhanced Cultural and Tourism Cooperation

Tehran, The Gulf Observer: Iran’s Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts, Reza Salehi-Amiri, has called for initiatives to expand cultural and tourism cooperation between Iran and Kazakhstan, with a focus on increasing the visa waiver period and boosting direct flight connections between the two countries.

During a meeting on Saturday with Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Tehran, Ontalap Onalbayev, Salehi-Amiri outlined several key measures to strengthen bilateral tourism and cultural ties. One of the main proposals included extending the visa waiver period between the two countries from the current 14 days to one month. The minister also suggested enhancing direct flight routes to facilitate easier travel and tourism exchanges.

Salehi-Amiri emphasized the importance of introducing the rich cultural and tourism attractions of both nations to each other’s citizens, which he said would help increase people-to-people interactions and promote mutual understanding. This, he noted, would not only boost tourism but also contribute to fostering stronger cultural ties.

In addition, the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts is ready to organize joint cultural and art exhibitions in both Iran and Kazakhstan to further deepen bilateral cooperation, according to the minister.

Ambassador Onalbayev expressed Kazakhstan’s strong commitment to advancing relations with Iran, particularly in the realms of cultural heritage, tourism, and handicrafts. He reaffirmed his government’s determination to develop collaborative efforts that enhance mutual cultural exchange and foster growth in these key sectors.
