Iran Reviewing Date for Next Round of Indirect Talks with U.S.

Tehran, The Gulf Observer: Iran is currently reviewing a proposed date for the next round of indirect negotiations with the United States, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei announced on Tuesday.

Speaking to the media, Baqaei stated that the discussions regarding the timing and venue of the talks are ongoing, and once finalized, the details will be communicated through Omani Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi, who is serving as the official mediator between the two countries.

“As soon as the date and venue of the talks are finalized, the necessary information will be given by the Omani foreign minister,” Baqaei said.

While no specific date has been confirmed, the Iranian side is currently reviewing a proposal from Oman to hold the talks early next week.

The spokesperson noted that the fourth round of negotiations had previously been delayed due to logistical issues, without providing further details.

The indirect talks, facilitated by Oman, are part of broader efforts to ease tensions and address outstanding bilateral and regional concerns between Tehran and Washington.
