Iranian President Thanks Regional Leaders for Solidarity Following Memorial Service for Ayatollah Khamenei

Tehran, The Gulf Observer: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has expressed his gratitude to the leaders of Pakistan, Tajikistan, Armenia, Georgia, and Turkmenistan for attending the recent memorial service held in Tehran for the late Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, describing their presence as a strong gesture of solidarity with the Iranian people.

In separate messages shared on his official X account on Wednesday, President Pezeshkian thanked the leaders and governments of the five countries for their support, stating that their expressions of sympathy and solidarity would remain deeply valued by the Iranian nation.

The Iranian president also praised Tehran’s relations with each of the participating countries, reaffirming Iran’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with neighboring and regional states in line with the vision of the late Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, who consistently emphasized the importance of close regional ties.

The memorial service was held in Tehran on July 3 and was attended by senior officials and dignitaries from dozens of countries, who paid tribute to Ayatollah Khamenei and several members of his family. According to Iranian authorities, they were killed in an airstrike targeting the Leader’s office and residence in Tehran on February 28 during the opening day of the recent US-Israeli conflict involving Iran.

Among the high-level foreign attendees were Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Tajikistan’s President Emomali Rahmon, Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Georgia’s President Mikheil Kavelashvili, and Turkmenistan’s National Leader Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow.

President Pezeshkian said the continued support and engagement of regional partners reflect the enduring strength of Iran’s bilateral relationships and reaffirm Tehran’s commitment to promoting cooperation, dialogue, and stability across the region.
