Kazakhstan and Oman Reaffirm Strategic Partnership

Astana, The Gulf Observer: President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on Thursday received Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said to discuss ways to further strengthen bilateral relations and expand cooperation across key sectors, according to the presidential press service.

During the meeting, President Tokayev described Oman as a long-standing and reliable partner of Kazakhstan in the Arab world, reaffirming Astana’s commitment to deepening comprehensive ties.

“Our bilateral relations are steadily strengthening in both political and economic spheres. I express my gratitude for your personal efforts in advancing cooperation,” Tokayev said, while conveying his greetings and respect to Haitham bin Tariq Al Said and expressing hope for his future visit to Astana.

Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said, in turn, thanked the Kazakh leader for the warm reception and reiterated Oman’s intention to further enhance interstate relations. He noted that diplomatic ties between the two countries, established in 1992, have grown steadily, with Oman among the first Gulf Cooperation Council states to build formal relations with Kazakhstan.

Highlighting areas of cooperation, the Omani deputy prime minister pointed to strong engagement in culture, trade, economy, and tourism, expressing optimism about expanding collaboration in these sectors.

President Tokayev also conveyed solidarity with the people of Oman amid the current challenges in the Middle East and commended the country’s constructive role in promoting peace and regional stability.

Both sides held detailed discussions on boosting trade and economic cooperation, focusing on priority sectors such as energy, metallurgy, transport and logistics, agriculture, and digitalization. They also underscored the importance of strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties.

The meeting reaffirmed the shared commitment of Kazakhstan and Oman to advancing a multifaceted partnership grounded in mutual respect and common interests.
