Minister of Defense of Azerbaijan Hosts Uzbek Air Defense Forces Commander
Baku, The Gulf Observer: Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan, welcomed Major General Akhmad Burkhanov, Commander of the Air Defense Forces and the Air Force of the Republic of Uzbekistan, during his official visit to Azerbaijan, as reported by the Ministry of Defense.
In a cordial meeting, Minister Hasanov extended his greetings to Major General Burkhanov and expressed his satisfaction with the visit, emphasizing the significance of the bilateral military cooperation grounded in friendly and fraternal relations between the two nations.
Colonel General Hasanov underscored the ongoing efforts to enhance military collaboration between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, guided by the directives of President Ilham Aliyev, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces. He detailed the initiatives being undertaken in this regard.
In response, Major General Burkhanov conveyed his appreciation for the warm welcome he received and transmitted the greetings of the Uzbek Minister of Defense to Colonel General Hasanov.
An official welcoming ceremony was conducted at the Central Command Post of the Air Force, where Lieutenant General Namig Islamzade, Deputy Minister of Defense of Azerbaijan and Commander of the Air Force, escorted Major General Burkhanov alongside a guard of honor.
The discussions between the two commanders focused on the importance of experience exchange in various domains, particularly military aviation and air defense. They also explored mutual visits and collaboration opportunities in the military sector and other areas of mutual interest.
Concluding the meeting, the Uzbek delegation received a comprehensive briefing on the operations and initiatives undertaken at the Central Command Post of the Air Force, showcasing the advancements made in Azerbaijan’s military capabilities.
