President Ilham Aliyev Inaugurates New Central Bank Building in Baku

Baku, The Gulf Observer: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on Wednesday attended the inauguration ceremony of the new building of the Central Bank in Baku, marking a significant milestone in the modernization of the country’s financial infrastructure.
During the visit, the President was briefed by Chairman of the Central Bank Taleh Kazimov on the facilities and working conditions created in the newly constructed building.
Located on Heydar Aliyev Avenue, the new Central Bank headquarters has been designed in line with modern urban planning principles, combining high functionality with advanced technological infrastructure. The 35-storey building is designed to accommodate approximately 1,300 employees and incorporates modern information systems and sustainable architectural features.
President Aliyev reviewed an exhibition showcasing the conceptual design of the building as well as the historical evolution, design elements, and security features of Azerbaijan’s national banknotes, presented through modern display technologies.
The facility includes 25 fully equipped rooms for official meetings and gatherings, along with conference and press halls, training spaces, and multipurpose meeting areas. A fully equipped 240-seat conference hall is also available for events and presentations.
The building places strong emphasis on accessibility and inclusion, featuring infrastructure designed to ensure safe and convenient access for individuals with physical disabilities.
In addition to administrative and operational spaces, the headquarters includes a dedicated recreation area for employees and a dining hall with a capacity of 340 people, aimed at enhancing staff well-being.
Built to meet high standards of quality, safety, and sustainability, the facility integrates advanced technological systems throughout its structure. A multimedia façade enhances the building’s nighttime visual identity with dynamic lighting and projection capabilities, while motion-sensor LED lighting across the premises helps reduce energy consumption during daylight hours.
Officials noted that the new headquarters reflects Azerbaijan’s broader efforts to modernize state institutions and strengthen the efficiency and transparency of its financial sector.
