President of Turkmenistan Meets European Commission President in Samarkand

Samarkand, The Gulf Observer: President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on Thursday in Samarkand, where they held discussions on strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation in key sectors. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the first Central Asia-European Union Summit.

According to official Turkmen media, President Berdimuhamedov highly assessed the current state of Turkmenistan-EU relations and reaffirmed the country’s commitment to further deepening its engagement with the European Union across various fields.

A significant portion of the discussions focused on energy cooperation. Both leaders underscored the importance of implementing advanced technologies and ensuring the stability of energy supplies, in alignment with the European Union’s strategy to promote sustainable and “green” energy solutions.
