President Shavkat Mirziyoyev Visits WWII Veterans, Reaffirms State Commitment to Honor and Care

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on Thursday visited veterans of the Second World War and labor front participants, extending holiday greetings and expressing deep respect for their lifelong contributions and sacrifices.
During his visit to the Central Military Clinical Hospital of the Ministry of Defense, the President met with veterans Akmal Akramov, Vera Juravskaya, Khasanboy Khalmatov, and Vladimir Alekseykov. He inquired about their health and well-being and paid tribute to their resilience, courage, and historic role during one of the most difficult periods of the 20th century.
Describing the veterans as “living witnesses to history,” President Mirziyoyev said their life journeys serve as a powerful source of inspiration for younger generations. He emphasized that the country’s present peace, stability, and development are the result of their extraordinary sacrifices and unwavering dedication.
“You are living witnesses to history, a symbol of courage and resilience,” the President stated. “Meetings with respected people like you and hearing your guidance provide us with immense spiritual strength. Our people are rightly proud of you.”
The President also highlighted that, in accordance with a presidential resolution adopted on April 16, enhanced care and support measures are being implemented for war participants, labor front veterans, and families of servicemen who died in the line of duty during the years of independence. These measures include both material assistance and moral support, as well as preferential access to leading sanatoriums across the country for health improvement.
“In recognition of your patriotism and selfless service, the Almighty has granted you a long life and the honor of living in respect and dignity among your people,” President Mirziyoyev added. “Your prayers bring prosperity to our country and success to our endeavors.”
The veterans expressed gratitude to the Head of State for ongoing efforts to preserve historical memory and for the continued attention and respect shown to the older generation.
The visit underscored Uzbekistan’s continued commitment to honoring its veterans and reinforcing national values of remembrance, gratitude, and respect for those who contributed to the country’s historical legacy.
