President Tokayev Extends Nauryz Meiramy Greetings to Kazakhstanis

Astana, The Gulf Observer: On the occasion of Nauryz Meiramy, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev extended heartfelt congratulations to all Kazakhstanis, highlighting the significance of the national holiday, which celebrates the renewal of life and the arrival of spring. Speaking at a gathering at the EXPO Center, the President emphasized that Nauryz, known as Ulystyn uly kuni, is a cornerstone of Kazakhstan’s rich cultural heritage, cherished by ancestors for centuries as a symbol of renewal on the spring equinox.

This year, President Tokayev noted, the holiday coincided with the holy month of Ramadan, underscoring the deep interconnection between Kazakhstan’s traditions and its religious values. He highlighted that, since last year, the celebration of Nauryz has been redefined under the concept of Nauryznama, which gives each day of the ten-day festive period a distinct meaning.

In his remarks, the President pointed out that the current day was designated as Solidarity Day, a reminder of the importance of unity and peace—core values that have always been central to Kazakhstan’s national identity. He expressed his appreciation that Kazakhstanis celebrate Nauryz together, regardless of ethnic or religious backgrounds, reinforcing the country’s unity, which serves as a foundation for progress and future prosperity.

President Tokayev also outlined the significant reforms underway in Kazakhstan, emphasizing political modernization and large-scale economic projects. He praised the country’s consistent and balanced foreign policy, which has earned Kazakhstan respect on the international stage.

The President further linked Nauryz to values of cleanliness and hard work. He referenced the nationwide Taza Qazaqstan campaign, which promotes environmental awareness and encourages a sustainable lifestyle, especially among youth. Additionally, Tokayev highlighted that 2025 has been declared the Year of Vocational Professions, with the aim of elevating the prestige of skilled labor as a fundamental pillar of Kazakhstan’s progress.
