Prime Minister Chính Meets with Polish President at WEF Annual Meeting

Dalian City, The Gulf Observer: On Tuesday, Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính of Việt Nam met with President Andrzej Duda of Poland on the sidelines of the 15th World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting of the New Champions.
During the meeting, PM Chính expressed Việt Nam’s admiration for Poland’s socio-economic achievements and reaffirmed the country’s commitment to the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation between the two nations. He acknowledged the valuable support and assistance that Poland provided during Việt Nam’s struggle for national construction and defense.
PM Chính extended his gratitude to Poland for its support to Vietnamese citizens affected by the shopping center fire in Warsaw in May. Both leaders noted with satisfaction the positive development of Việt Nam-Poland relations in various areas. As the two countries approach the 75th anniversary of their diplomatic relations (1950-2025), they agreed to elevate bilateral relations to new heights.
The Vietnamese Prime Minister proposed that both countries continue to strengthen their partnership by increasing the exchange of delegations at all levels, particularly high-level visits, and by promoting cooperation in economic, trade, investment, culture, and people-to-people exchanges. He assured that Việt Nam would create optimal conditions for the import of Polish goods, particularly machinery and ships.
PM Chính also urged the acceleration of the signing of a loan agreement for the project to build six new offshore search and rescue ships, for which the Polish Government has committed to granting preferential credit to Việt Nam. He expressed hope for Poland’s support in human resources training in basic training and shipbuilding.
Additionally, PM Chính suggested that Poland continue to facilitate the Vietnamese community in Poland, helping them integrate well and contribute actively to Poland’s socio-economic development and the robust traditional friendship between the two nations.
President Andrzej Duda, in response, praised Việt Nam’s socio-economic progress and highlighted Việt Nam as Poland’s largest partner in Southeast Asia. He acknowledged the contributions of the Vietnamese community in Poland and expressed hope that Việt Nam would facilitate Polish firms in exporting goods to Việt Nam and enhance cooperation in new sectors such as renewable energy and tourism.
