Qatar takes part in GCC Information Ministers meeting
Doha, The Gulf Observer: The State of Qatar participated in the 26th meeting of Their Highnesses and Excellencies Ministers of Information of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states.
The meeting was held virtually under the chairmanship of Minister of Information of the Sultanate of Oman, H E Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser Al Harasi, who is the current session’s president. GCC Secretary-General H E Jassim Mohammed Al Budiwi attended the meeting with the participation of Their Highnesses and Excellencies Ministers of Information of the GCC states.
Chairman of Qatar Media Corporation (QMC) H E Sheikh Hamad bin Thamer Al Thani represented the State of Qatar in the meeting.
At the beginning of the meeting, the GCC Secretary-General Jassim Mohammed Al Budiwi congratulated Their Highnesses and Excellencies Ministers of Information of the GCC states on the adoption of the general framework for the Media Cooperation Strategic Plan 2023-2030 by the GCC Supreme Council during its 43rd session.
The strategic plan aims to set ambitious goals to achieve a unified Gulf media vision.
The meeting also discussed several topics on the agenda aimed at developing and enhancing the collective Gulf media efforts.
At the end of the meeting, Sheikh Hamad bin Thamer Al-Thani expressed Qatar Media Corporation’s welcome to Their Highnesses and Excellencies Ministers of Information of the GCC states for their upcoming 27th meeting, scheduled to be held in Doha in 2024.
