Saudi, US Officials Review Strategic Ties Ahead of Trump’s Visit to Middle East

Riyadh, The Gulf Observer: Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan held a telephone conversation on Wednesday with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio to review bilateral relations and the strategic partnership between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United States.
According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the two officials also exchanged views on key regional and international developments, reaffirming the importance of close coordination between Riyadh and Washington on pressing global issues.
In a separate conversation, Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister Waleed Al-Khuraiji spoke with U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau. Their discussion focused on matters of mutual interest and the continued strengthening of bilateral cooperation.
The high-level exchanges come ahead of U.S. President Donald Trump’s scheduled visit to the Middle East next week, during which Saudi Arabia will serve as the first stop on his regional tour.
The upcoming visit is expected to underscore the strategic nature of Saudi-U.S. relations and to address shared security and economic priorities in the region.
