Shavkat Mirziyoyev Receives Russian Defense Minister to Bolster Strategic Partnership

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Andrey Belousov, on January 22 during the latter’s official visit to Uzbekistan.
Minister Belousov conveyed the warm greetings and best wishes of Russian President Vladimir Putin to the Uzbek leader. Discussions during the meeting centered on further developing and strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance between Uzbekistan and Russia.
The dialogue also reviewed the progress of implementing agreements reached during President Putin’s state visit to Uzbekistan in May 2024. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing cooperation between the defense ministries of the two nations, in line with strategic programs and planning documents.
The meeting underscored the shared determination of Uzbekistan and Russia to advance their bilateral ties across various domains, reflecting the depth and significance of their partnership.
