Taungthaman Bridge and Lake Attract Record Tourists

Mandalay, The Gulf Observer: Taungthaman Bridge and Taungthaman Lake, renowned tourist attractions in the Mandalay Region, witnessed an influx of over 10,000 domestic and international tourists during the recent public holiday period.
According to U Soe Win, Secretary of the Taungthaman Bridge Maintenance Committee, the highest number of visitors was recorded on the full moon day of Taboung. “The number of visitors on the full moon day was significantly higher than usual, with people from various parts of upper and lower Myanmar coming to visit. Normally, around 400 to 500 visitors come per day, but during this period, the number surged to over 2,000 per day. The number of foreign tourists remained stable,” he stated.
Domestic tourists primarily hailed from cities such as Mandalay, PyinOoLwin, Taunggyi, and Yangon. Meanwhile, international visitors predominantly came from Thailand, Vietnam, and South Korea.
Taungthaman Bridge and Taungthaman Lake continue to be among the most popular destinations in the region, drawing both local and foreign tourists with their cultural significance and scenic beauty. The surge in visitors highlights the enduring appeal of these iconic landmarks in Mandalay.
