Turkmenistan Participates in Fifth Tashkent International Investment Forum to Strengthen Economic Cooperation

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: A delegation led by Turkmenistan’s Minister of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations, N. Agahanov, participated in the Fifth Tashkent International Investment Forum (TIIF-2026), held in Uzbekistan’s capital from June 16 to 18.
The forum’s opening ceremony brought together a wide range of high-level officials, including the President of Uzbekistan, the President of Albania, and the prime ministers of Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Russia and Tajikistan. The event also attracted representatives of the United States business community and senior officials from leading international financial institutions.
Among the institutions represented were the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), the BRICS New Development Bank, the Eurasian Development Bank and other international development organizations.
During the forum, participants exchanged views on key issues shaping regional and global economic development. Discussions focused on the advancement of the energy sector, enhancement of transport connectivity, the development of the digital economy and artificial intelligence, sustainable use of mineral and raw material resources, strengthening food security, and improving modern financial mechanisms and investment instruments.
The participation of the Turkmen delegation underscored Turkmenistan’s continued commitment to promoting mutually beneficial regional and international cooperation, strengthening trade and economic relations, and expanding investment partnerships.
The forum served as an important platform for dialogue among governments, businesses and international financial institutions aimed at fostering sustainable economic growth and attracting investment across the region.
