UAE and United States Reaffirm Strategic Partnership, Discuss Regional Security and Multilateral Cooperation

Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, received Ambassador Mike Waltz, Permanent Representative of the United States of America to the United Nations, during a meeting held in Abu Dhabi.
The two sides discussed avenues of cooperation between the United Arab Emirates and the United States, particularly within the framework of multilateral engagement and international organisations. They also reviewed the latest regional developments and exchanged views on ongoing challenges affecting international peace and security.
Discussions included the repercussions of unprovoked attacks attributed to Iran targeting the United Arab Emirates and several other countries, and their broader implications for global energy supplies, maritime security, and the stability of the international economy.
Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed expressed appreciation for the United States’ solidarity with the United Arab Emirates in the wake of these incidents, reaffirming the importance of coordinated international responses to threats to regional stability.
The two sides also reviewed developments in Sudan and Lebanon, underlining the need to strengthen collective efforts to promote sustainable peace, stability, and prosperity across the region through enhanced international cooperation.
Both officials further addressed the growing strategic relations between the United Arab Emirates and the United States, exploring opportunities to deepen cooperation across various sectors. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed reaffirmed the strength of the long-standing bilateral relationship and emphasized the shared commitment to expanding the strategic partnership in a manner that serves mutual interests and enhances regional and global stability.
The meeting was attended by Yousef Manea Al Otaiba, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to the United States.
