President of Uzbekistan says SCO partnership will be expanded.
Samarkand, The Gulf Observer: President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) announced the start of procedures for Belarus accession.
A memorandum on Iran’s accession will be signed today. Bahrain, Maldives, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates and Myanmar will receive the status of dialogue partners.
Samarkand hosts SCO summit from September 15-16. This is the first in-person meeting of SCO leaders since 2019 and the end of Uzbekistan’s chairmanship in the organization.
Leaders of 14 countries and heads of 10 international organizations are taking part in the summit.
