Uzbekistan's Tourism Potential Takes Center Stage at Brussels

Brussels, The Gulf Observer: The Uzbekistan Embassy in Brussels hosted a constructive roundtable discussion focused on exploring and promoting Uzbekistan’s tourism potential. Attended by representatives from prominent Belgian and Dutch travel agencies, media outlets, and organizations, the event aimed to showcase Uzbekistan as a burgeoning travel destination.

Notable attendees included representatives from 7PLUS Tour Operator Belgium, Caravanistan, Dimsum Reizen, Glenaki Tourism Consultancy, Uzbekistan-Netherlands Friendship Foundation, Brussels Chamber of Commerce, portal Travel Tomorrow, The Brussels Times, La Vie Diplomatique, and other leading media outlets.

The discussion highlighted Uzbekistan’s growing appeal as a tourist destination, citing the impressive influx of more than 7 million foreign tourists in 2023. Ambitious plans were outlined to increase this figure to 10 million in 2024 and a remarkable 15 million by the year 2030.

António Buscardini, Founder & CEO of Travel Tomorrow, praised the positive transformations occurring within Uzbekistan’s tourism industry, emphasizing the rapid post-pandemic recovery and the potential for further growth.

Post the roundtable, pivotal agreements were reached, focusing on the activation of PR campaigns. This includes the publication of specialized exhibition tourism booklets, magazines, and various promotional materials aimed at amplifying awareness of Uzbekistan’s tourism potential. The collaboration with travel agencies and media partners is poised to enhance the visibility of Uzbekistan among potential tourists.

Moreover, plans were set in motion for organizing a dedicated meeting at the end of February this year, specifically tailored for travel agencies and media representatives from the Netherlands. This targeted approach aims to deepen engagement and foster collaborative efforts in promoting Uzbekistan as a sought-after travel destination.

The roundtable served as a pivotal platform for fostering partnerships, driving awareness, and charting the course for mutually beneficial collaborations to unlock the full potential of Uzbekistan’s vibrant tourism sector.
