Vietnam and US Hold First Economic Dialogue to Enhance Bilateral Cooperation

Washington DC, The Gulf Observer: Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyễn Chí Dũng and US Under Secretary of State Jose Fernandez co-chaired the inaugural Vietnam-US Economic Dialogue in Washington DC on June 25.
This event marked a significant milestone in promoting cooperation between the two nations, particularly in the areas of economy, trade, and investment.
During the dialogue, both countries explored specific measures to enhance their bilateral partnership in five key sectors: semiconductor technology ecosystem development, energy and critical minerals, business environment, high-quality investment attraction, strategic export control, and key information technology infrastructure and network security.
Notable outcomes were achieved, especially in the semiconductor ecosystem, with agreements reached on detailed measures to advance this sector.
The dialogue set the foundation for expanded cooperation between Vietnam and the US in other areas, with both parties committing to hold the second Vietnam-US Economic Dialogue in Hà Nội in 2025.
As part of his US visit, Minister Dũng also held working sessions with leading technology firms to discuss innovation, semiconductors, and artificial intelligence.
