Vietnam to Send Largest-Ever Delegation to 2025 SelectUSA Investment Summit
Hanoi, The Gulf Observer: Vietnam will dispatch its largest-ever delegation to the 2025 SelectUSA Investment Summit, scheduled to take place from May 11–14 in Maryland, United States, Minister of Finance Nguyễn Văn Thắng announced during a meeting with US Ambassador to Vietnam Marc E. Knapper in Hanoi on Thursday.
Minister Thắng highlighted the delegation’s participation as a key initiative to further enhance trade and investment ties between Vietnam and the United States. He expressed appreciation for the consistent support provided by Ambassador Knapper and the US Embassy in Vietnam, stating that it reflects the deepening substance and growing effectiveness of the Vietnam–US Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
According to Minister Thắng, the unprecedented scale of the Vietnamese presence at the summit signals the rising interest of Vietnamese enterprises in the US investment climate and their ambition to expand their footprint in the American market.
He noted that, in addition to engaging in summit activities, the Vietnamese delegation will hold meetings with US government agencies, business associations, and companies across sectors such as semiconductors, high technology, startups, banking, and green and digital finance. These engagements are intended to emphasize the Vietnamese Government’s commitment to promoting economic cooperation based on fairness, mutual benefit, and sustainability amid global shifts in trade and investment landscapes.
Ambassador Knapper welcomed the announcement, describing Vietnam’s strong participation as a testament to the dynamic progress of bilateral relations. He underscored that the summit offers a valuable opportunity to identify new avenues for deepening economic and investment cooperation, particularly as the two countries prepare to mark the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2025.
The meeting also reviewed recent progress in bilateral ties, especially following the elevation of the relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2023. Minister Thắng expressed confidence that, with Ambassador Knapper’s leadership and close collaboration among all stakeholders, Vietnam and the United States will continue to advance a robust, long-term economic partnership.
