PM Roman Golovchenko of Belarus Visits National Museum and Royal Opera House in Oman

Muscat, The Gulf Observer: On Monday, Roman Golovchenko, Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus, conducted an official visit to the Sultanate of Oman, during which he toured the National Museum in Muscat. Accompanied by a delegation, Prime Minister Golovchenko engaged with exhibits that highlight the rich cultural heritage of Oman.

The delegation began its visit with a briefing on the museum’s various halls, which showcase the nation’s historical and cultural significance. Notably, in the Maritime History Hall, the Prime Minister examined documents detailing the achievements of the Omani fleet during the reign of Sultan Said bin Sultan, as well as artifacts recovered from the wreckage of Vasco da Gama’s ship.

Prime Minister Golovchenko continued his exploration of Oman’s history by visiting several thematic halls, including the Civilization Achievements Hall, the Aflaj Hall, and the Greatness of Islam Hall, each of which provides insights into the country’s rich past and cultural accomplishments.

A poignant moment during the visit occurred in the Renaissance Hall, specifically in the pavilion titled “The Dearest and Finest of Men,” which honors the late Sultan Qaboos bin Said bin Taimour. Here, the Prime Minister viewed the original copy of “Message No. 1,” addressed to the Royal Family Council. He also explored the Al Busaidi Family timeline and a collection of royal possessions, including significant gifts received by the late Sultan from leaders of allied and friendly nations.

In addition to the National Museum, Prime Minister Golovchenko visited the Royal Opera House Muscat (ROHM). During this tour, he explored the opera house’s facilities, annual programs, and state-of-the-art equipment used for international musical performances.

The Prime Minister received a comprehensive briefing on the architectural significance of ROHM, which showcases a blend of Omani cultural heritage and influences from various continents, reflecting the country’s commitment to arts and culture. This visit not only underscores the strengthening ties between Belarus and Oman but also highlights the cultural richness that both nations cherish.
